{tangled}

when i first saw the picture of this cake, i thought "no problem, easy peesy!"  that was not the case.  the tower was actually pretty difficult.  i am pretty sure it has to do with the fact that i am still a novice.  but, in the end i figured it out and am glad to add it to my arsenal. 

let me note that the picture i saw was only an inpiration, i did not copy it exactly.  i always like to see pictures of cakes, but i always tweek them to make them my own. 

so, i started a few days before on the roof of the tower.  the fondant really needed to dry so it could be moved around easier. 


finally after days of anticipation i finally got to bake the cake and start decorating!


of course i left a few ingredients out of this....i can't give away my secrets :)


i put a quick crumb coat on the cake.  i didn't want to completely frost it.  i didn't want to have to work that carefully when carving and decorating the tower. 


the purpose of this blog is to show everyone that making a cake isn't always as easy as it may seem.  it takes a lot of planning and time to get to the finished product.
